Senator Tackles Toxic Mold

Before the wet winter months come around and beckon mold into our homes, State Senator Liz Krueger warns that anyone who claims they can remediate mold had better know what they are doing. Krueger is putting forth legislation that requires commercial mold cleaners be certified by the Department of Environmental Conservation according to requirements to be set by her task force. The task force will define what is a toxic mold and who is qualified to clean it.
State employee claims mold in Brooksville office made her ill

A toxic mold contamination at a local office building leased by the Department of Corrections may have made state employees sick, according to court documents. Investigator Deborah Roscillo works at the department's probation and parole division office at 20144 Cortez Blvd., just east of U.S. 41. The state agency rents the white stucco building from prominent Brooksville real estate broker Robert Buckner, according to property records.
