The state of Florida has passed new laws regarding the licensing of Mold Inspectors / Assessors effective July 1st, 2010.
The new requirements state that all persons performing mold inspections, assessment & testing shall meet the following criteria:

- Be licensed through the DBPR (Department of Business & Professional Regulation)
- Possess $1 Million coverage in both General Liability and Error & Omissions Insurance
- Pass a state & federal background check by fingerprinting
- Will not perform the mold assessment & remediation for the same job (conflict of interest)
